Lincoln Running Company to Host Holiday Run for Capital Humane Society
For the past 13 years, runners have been lacing up their shoes for a fun jaunt through Pioneers Park with their four-legged running buddies to benefit the Capital Humane Society. This year, the run will take place on Sunday, December 2 at 10 a.m. There is a one mile and a 5K option. The entrance fee of $15 helps the Capital Humane Society in a big way, as it’s equivalent to the cost of vaccinating four adult dogs or the ability to microchip a cat or dog. All funds from the event directly support the pets in the Capital Humane Society adoption program by providing food and medication while they are waiting for their forever homes.
Lincoln Running Company (www.lincrunningcompany.com) has been locally owned and operated by the same family over 40 years. Founded in 1976, their mission has always been to help people in Lincoln find the right shoes and gear to be fit, whether that be with running, walking, or just moving. They invite all levels of runners to join in on holiday run and believe that a first time 5K runner is just as important as the winner of the Lincoln marathon in all aspects of their business!
