inMOTION Announces “Brakes for Breasts” Fundraiser, Donates Over $4K to Food Bank
inMOTION Auto Care (www.inmotionautocare.com) is always finding ways to give back to the community and make a difference through various fundraising efforts. During the month of October, inMOTION in Lincoln, along with more than 140 other independent auto repair shops across the US, are raising funds for a breast cancer vaccine through Brakes for Breasts. As part of this fundraiser, inMOTION is giving away free (premium) brake pads or shoes. The customer simply pays the labor and any other ancillary parts necessary to complete the brake job, then inMOTION will donate 10% of the brake job directly to Dr. Vincent Tuohy and the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Research Fund.
Dr. Tuohy has actually created a vaccine that has proved effective in laboratory animals in actually preventing breast cancer. His team is currently rounding the corner and are hoping to start Phase 1 trials in early 2020. One hundred percent of the funds raised during Brakes for Breasts will go directly to this research. In addition, inMOTION’s 6th Annual Show & Shine Car Show held on August 3 was able to raise $4,400 for the Lincoln Food Bank. These funds went directly to supporting the Food Bank’s Back Pack Program, which is designed to send food-filled backpacks home with kids living in households with food insecurities on the weekends. Admission to the car show, along with raffles and food sales, generated enough money to sponsor 17 children for the entire 2019-20 school year!
