Jae Hyun Lim from Scott Middle School and On Approach from Lincoln High School were named winners at Lincoln’s second annual city-wide talent competition held on Oct. 23, at St Mark’s Church, 8550 Pioneers.
The two winners were among the 19 finalist acts that represented their schools at the finale. Before they performed at the talent event, the finalists went through two rounds of auditions and competed against more than 300 other performers. That field of performers was narrowed to 55 acts at a live audition and from that group, 18 finalists from every LPS middle and high school and an At-Large act were selected to compete at the talent finale. The panel of audition judges also selected an alternate for each school and At-Large. Those acts were put online and voted on. More than 39,500 votes were cast in the online voting competition to select the 19th act for the finale competition.
The two winners, Jae Hyun Lim and On Approach, were named the best performances and will go on to perform at the Lied Center during the 2011-2012 season. Dietze Music will provide a $100 gift card to Scott Middle School and Lincoln High School.
