Why should I use a tailor?
A good tailor should be on your contact list just like a good hair dresser or dry cleaner. Sewing projects that enhance your wardrobe–from taking in a suit to shortening that prom dress–need to be done by a professional. I have been in this profession for years working for men’s stores and sewing most of my life.  As a result, my expertise is men’s wear but I provide a variety of services for men and women of all ages and body types.  The styles have changed over the years, but I can update and keep your wardrobe looking impeccable with specific alterations. I consider each client to be my boss, and want to achieve the look they wanted when they bought the garment. A good tailor will offer advice, but will always make sure you are happy with the results and you get the look YOU want.

Do you have items in your closet that you keep because you convince yourself “I would wear this if…?”
When organizing your closet you will always find things that need repairs like a broken zipper or popped seam. Maybe you have pants that are too short or too long and just need an adjustment to make them work. A tailor can fix these problems easily and professionally.  This also saves you money and allows you to wear your favorite clothes instead of forcing you to purchase something new as a replacement. As styles go, it can be very difficult to find a similar garment if you have had it for longer than a few months.

When you shop for clothes do you find something you like but decide against purchasing it because it is too long or fits poorly in certain areas?
The sales clerk may be able to tell you if the garment can potentially be altered, but a tailor can give you advice on your options. Each body is unique and straight off the rack isn’t going to work for everyone, but you can still wear items that you love but don’t fit right initially if you have a great tailor.

Aren’t tailors just for clothing?
Most tailors can tackle any project that involves sewing.  This includes home décor projects like pillows, cushions, slipcovers, broken zippers on your couch cushions, etc. You can definitely save your high dollar investments by fixing them and keeping them updated. My latest projects have been slip covers. I come to wherever the couch or chair is located, make a pattern, and figure how much material you need. You can then purchase the material of your choice and I put it together to fit like a glove. A tailor can help you do all those things you just don’t have the time or equipment to do yourself.

I encourage you to support your local economy and call your personal tailor to take care of those things that will keep your wardrobe and home looking current, flawless and fabulous!
