Lincoln Chamber of Commerce reach an important milestone in its 140+ years of existence , as the organization hit 1,500 members for the first time in its history.

In 2010, the Lincoln Chamber grew by 4%. In 2011, the Chamber kept the momentum rolling by growing 9%.

According to Chamber leaders, the increase in membership is attributed to recent successes of Chamber initiatives and continued service to members.

In 2010, the Chamber was actively engaged in the new arena, Innovation Campus, Antelope Valley, the Special Olympics National Games and downtown redevelopment projects.

“This significant event is testament to the value the business community places on our organization,” states Wendy Birdsall, President of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. “This is a major achievement for the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce that speaks to the strength of our organization. We will continue to move forward to bring every member our important programs and services that contribute to a stronger business community.”

Birdsall stated that achieving this milestone is one indication of what the Chamber can accomplish with strong leadership and a strong member base.

As members join the Chamber, the membership development staff has worked diligently to ensure they get involved in key activities that will positively impact their business goals.

“Though I am a new member, I have already begun to benefit from belonging to the Chamber’s community of progressive business leaders and professionals,” said Nader Sepahpur, owner of several local restaurants including downtown staple Yia Yia’s Pizza. “I am an introvert by nature, but Kristin and the staff at the Chamber have eased me in comfortably to their organization’s networking opportunities, and have offered me valuable resources. I am very grateful for their attention, and their thoughtful and intelligent support of my businesses.”
