Branched Oak Observatory Hosts Stargazing at Indian Cave State Park
July 20 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Branched Oak Observatory (branchedoakobservatory.com) is proud to recognize 50 years of astronomical inspiration by holding their popular Stargazing at Indian Cave State Park event on July 20, which is the anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing. The event will be from 8 to 11 p.m. (quality observing will not begin until 9:30 p.m.). Volunteers from Branched Oak Observatory, as well as astronomy groups from Omaha and Lincoln, will be setting up their telescopes for outstanding astronomical views of planets, stars, galaxies, and nebulae under the clear dark skies of Indian Cave State Park, located in Shubert, NE at 65296 720 Rd. The event is free of charge and open to the general public. A state park permit (yearly or day-pass) is required and available for purchase at the front entrance.
The public can also support the observatory by ordering a limited edition Stargazing t-shirt. Orders can be placed online at indiancavestargazing.itemorder.com. One hundred percent of the proceeds support Branched Oak Observatory’s mission to share the wonders of the night sky with people of all ages.
