OUR ROLES: Be interested in the aging of others and ourselves (it is a lifelong process).Take responsibility for our own aging process.Realize that aging is not a disease but instead a process – something to embrace and prepare for.
“Prepare to Care” is A Resource for Families that was developed to help make the job of caregiving more manageable. It includes information on how to have vital conversations with older family members, organize important documents, assess your loved one’s needs and locate important resources. When it comes to caring for a loved one, most families don’t have a plan until a problem or crisis emerges. People can now expect to live 20 to 30 years beyond the traditional retirement age of 65.
It is now more important than ever to prepare for future caregiving demands.
“As a volunteer instructor I teach this free presentation all over Lincoln to groups that request it.” Said Karla Frese, Co-Founder / Managing Partner at Home Care Partners of Nebraska.
We invite you to join this free class to gain a framework to help you make plans to care for family members, neighbors and friends. You will have opportunity to learn the steps to create a caregiving plan, connect with other family caregivers, exchange tips and advice, and learn about resources available to you and your loved ones. Location 301 S. 68 ST. Place. Room 404
