The Cornhusker Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) held their 19th Annual Excellence in Construction Award ceremony on February 19, 2015 at The Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln. The awards competition is designed to publicly recognize the quality and distinction of merit shop construction projects built by Nebraska Contractors during 2014. Eagle Award winners are now eligible to enter ABC’s National Excellence in Construction Awards program.

The 2014 Project of the Year award was presented to an Omaha firm, Lund-Ross Constructors for The Barn at Glacier Park in Bennington, NE which was entered in the Historic Restoration/Renovation Less than $25 Million category. The 2014 Eagle Safety Award went to the winning project that demonstrated outstanding commitments toward safety. The winner of this award was Lincoln company General Excavating for Nebraska Innovation Campus Centralized Renewable Energy System entered in the Public Works / Environmental category.  The following Lincoln ABC member companies received Excellence In Construction Eagle Awards at the ceremony: Willmar Electric Service Corp. for the Devaney Sports Center Improvements in the Electrical Commercial $2 Million to $10 Million; K2 Construction, for the CRES Pump Station in the Industrial Less than $5 Million category; General Excavating for Nebraska Innovation Campus Centralized Renewable Energy System in the Public Works/Environmental category; Cheever Construction for the IAC Acoustics GT Exhaust Manufacturing Facility in the Industrial $5 Million – $15 Million category.  ABC represents over 100 merit shop contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, manufacturers and associate members throughout the state.
