Black Hills Energy is responding to the growing demand for natural gas vehicles (NGV) by opening its newly expanded Lincoln fueling station to the public. Black Hills, the natural gas utility serving 196,000 customers in Lincoln and eastern Nebraska, has been fueling its own fleet of NGVs at its service center located at 1600 Windhoek Drive in south Lincoln for some time. This is the second NGV fueling station for the public in Lincoln, following the October 2011 opening of a station owned and operated by the Lincoln Airport Authority at the Lincoln Airport. The upgrade to Black Hills Energy’s fueling station was funded in part by a U.S. Department of Energy grant available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
