Any business owner is constantly looking for ways to manage expenses and increase profits. If a solution helps the environment, it’s a bonus for all of us. Ron Tucker, owner of Lincoln pool and hot tub company Strawberry Springs, recently added a Natural Gas Vehicle to his fleet and discovered that it made a significant difference.  Tucker states that their Honda Civic NGV is achieving savings of greater than 50 percent over their gasoline-fueled compact car.  In fact, it is approximately $1.92/gallon for the equivalent amount of natural gas compared to the current price of gasoline.

Natural gas utility Black Hills Energy offers expertise and incentives to qualifying businesses of all sizes transitioning to NGVs. Black Hills encourages business owners and fleet managers to contact the company’s NGV experts, who can walk you through the process and help to find additional incentives and cost savings.

Currently, the Lincoln Airport has an NGV fueling station and Black Hills has one near 14th Street and Old Cheney Road, where they recently hosted an open house in October.   A third Lincoln station is being constructed at N. 66th Street and Cornhusker Highway.
