The Lincoln Independent Business Association (LIBA) today announced that Coby Mach will be returning to the organization as its President and CEO. Mach had announced in January that he would leave LIBA and become the Operations Manager and a co-host of the KFOR morning talk show. Mach had been fulfilling his contract with LIBA and had planned to leave the organization at the end of April; however, he had been working at KFOR co-hosting the morning show since January 23, 2012.

“We’re extremely happy to have Coby Mach back at LIBA and leading our organization into the future,” said Joe Bolubasz, LIBA Chairman of the Board. “Coby Mach greatly increased our membership under his leadership and helped LIBA become the leading voice in Lincoln for promoting free enterprise and limited government.”

Mach, who had taken a leave of absence from the KFOR morning show in recent weeks, said doctors have diagnosed that he has an inner ear condition that prevents him from doing extended radio broadcasts. Mach said based on that diagnosis he would be unable to fulfill one of the primary obligations of his new job.

“I’ve had two careers in my professional life; radio and LIBA. And I love them both,” Mach said. “When Three Eagles offered me the new position, they made it impossible to pass up an opportunity to return to my first career. I’ve been doing radio since I was 15.

I would like to thank Three Eagles Communications and KFOR who generously gave me a leave of absence while doctors assessed my inner ear issue. However, it has become clear that extended use of headphones was making matters worse and I am not able to host a radio show. When faced with that situation, I discussed it with Three Eagles and then I asked the LIBA search committee if the President’s position had been filled and I was told it had not yet been filled. Working with the LIBA Board and LIBA members closely over the past eight years, I’ve established friendships that will last the rest of my life. I truly love Lincoln and I believe in the purpose and goals of LIBA. I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to continue working with this organization and its members. And I also appreciate the understanding of the management at Three Eagles,” Mach said.

“Of course, we are sorry for Coby’s condition that led to this situation, but we are extremely happy to have Coby Mach back with our organization,” Bolubasz said. “He is re-energized and more motivated than ever to help LIBA grow and become a more effective voice for small businesses, taxpayers and families in Lincoln.”
