Delta Airlines will begin flying from the Lincoln Airport to Atlanta on September 8. The new service will include a daily departure from Lincoln at 7 a.m. Central time arriving in Atlanta at 10:17 a.m. Eastern time. The return flight will leave Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta at 7:15 p.m. Eastern time and arrive in Lincoln at 8:42 p.m. Central time. The new service to the world’s busiest airport provides travelers from Lincoln better connections to the Southeastern U.S. and international destinations.

To make the flight available, the Lincoln Airport obtained a $750,000 federal grant to provide a revenue guarantee to Delta, but if travelers support the service the grant funds won’t need to be used.  Travelers can now book flights connecting Lincoln and Atlanta at Delta.com
