Lincoln Electric System’s
popular Sustainable Energy Program returned January 1st, offering customers the opportunity to take advantage of $4 million in incentive funds to help make their homes or businesses more energy efficient.
Since the program began in 2009, participants have spent $50 million on energy-efficient equipment and/or services benefiting the local economy and saved an estimated $4 million on electric energy bills. Additionally, more than 2,800 residential customers have received program incentives. LES has reduced on-peak demand of about 19 megawatts, reducing the environmental impact and delaying the need to invest in expensive power plants.
The program is designed to help defray the upfront costs of becoming more energy efficient while benefitting all rate payers. By offering customers financial incentives, LES hopes to influence their purchasing decisions to upgrade to even more efficient equipment than they would have purchased on their own.
To take advantage of the Sustainable Energy Program, customers should contact participating contractors who will immediately apply the program’s incentives toward their purchase of eligible equipment or services. More information is available at www.les.com/SEP or by calling (402) 473-3270. Incentive funds are available to LES customers on a first-come, first-served basis.
