Lincoln is preparing to host the second annual Startup Week and Weekend September 5-13. Startup Week is a week-long celebration of the Lincoln startup community. The event engages aspiring and established entrepreneurs and teaches them the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. Startup Weekend is a grassroots effort, powered by the Kauffman Foundation, touring across the nation with over 400 past events held all over the world.
This nine day event will bring together developers, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts to share ideas, form teams, build projects and ultimately launch startups. Lincoln Startup Weekend and Week will provide attendees with educational, networking and business opportunities. The Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development, in conjunction with a number of other local companies including NMotion, Assurity, Nebraska Angels, Big Plate, Firespring, Three Pillars Media, FUSE Coworking, HIVE and many others, are sponsoring the events.
Startup Week begins with an opening party at the Champions Club on Sept. 5 and Startup Weekend Lincoln is scheduled to kick off on Sept. 6 with the formation of teams and the development of business plans and will continue through Sept. 8 for final presentations. Startup Week will follow with five days of events including a Startup Olympics, co-working event, and a tech crawl.
