A new flight means new opportunities for business travelers flying from the Lincoln Airport. Daily direct flights to Atlanta on Delta Air Lines offer better connections to the Deep South, the East Coast and international destinations. The service began September 3, with the flight to Atlanta departing the Lincoln Airport at 7:00 a.m. (CT). The return flight leaves Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta at 7:15 p.m. (ET), arriving in Lincoln at 8:40 p.m. (CT).
Delta briefly operated a flight from Lincoln to Atlanta in 2009, but discontinued the flight due to rising fuel prices. To make the flight available again, the Lincoln Airport obtained a $750,000 federal grant to provide a revenue guarantee to Delta, but if the flight is profitable grant funds will be returned.
It was also announced in September that Ginger Calkins of Lincoln was the winner of two round-trip tickets to Atlanta in a contest sponsored by the Lincoln Airport.
Travelers can take the LNK vs. OMA challenge to compare travel costs from both airports, plus find the latest updates about the Lincoln Airport, flight schedules and information on parking and airport services at LincolnAirport.com
