Lincoln’s Backswing Brewing Company Celebrates Grand Opening

The brainchild of three friends whose mediocre golf games gave way to great craft beer, Backswing Brewing Company (www.backswingbrewing.com), 500 W. South St., Ste. 8, celebrated its grand opening April 6. Owners T.J. Walker, Pat Simpson, and Cory Sinclair opened the brewery in September and the taproom earlier this year.

The grand opening included a Lincoln Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting, brewery tours, pizza from Spokes Mobile Wood Fired Pizza and, of course, plenty of Backswing brews. The special event menu featured a brown ale, a wheat, an oatmeal stout and an English-style IPA that put Backswing on the map in 2015 when it became a hit at Brewsky’s Sports Bar and Restaurant locations.

In its short time on the market, Backswing’s craft beer is already in nearly 100 bars and restaurants in southeast Nebraska and the new taproom has become a welcoming hub for craft beer lovers to gather around great beer and lively conversation.

“We’re humbled by the overwhelming response to our beer and proud to be part of a city that has enthusiastically embraced the craft beer industry,” said Walker, who doesn’t miss the days of trying to perfect his golf game. “As we like to say around here, all you need for a great Backswing is a pint glass.”
