Lund-Ross Constructors was honored with an Eagle Award for the $3.5-million historic renovation of The Margaret Apartments at the 2013 Excellence in Construction Awards on Feb. 13. The Cornhusker Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) hosted the construction and safety awards at the Embassy Suites in Lincoln.

Lund-Ross also received its first Diamond Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Award at the ceremony. The Diamond STEP is the highest level of ABC’s safety benchmarking program.

Lund-Ross President Larry Lundquist, Project Manager Scott Brown, and Superintendent Tracy Barnes accepted the honors at the 17th annual Excellence in Construction (EIC) Awards. The EIC Awards are the industry’s leading competition, developed to honor innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects.

The Margaret Apartments at 2103 N. 16th Street in Omaha is Nebraska’s first affordable housing solar demonstration project. Lund-Ross completed the historic renovation under budget in 2011, despite challenges like severe structural damage.
