The Nebraska Archaeological Society (NAS) quarterly meeting will be held at 1:30 PM at the Grand Island Public Library, in Grand Island, Nebraska, on Saturday, February 2nd 2013. The Grand Island Library is located at 211 North Washington St.  The meeting is open to the public and everyone interested in archaeology is encouraged to attend. This is a great opportunity to bring in that “unknown prehistoric item” you found last summer or earlier, for possible identification by members of the society.

At the conclusion of a brief business meeting, Teresa Kreutzer-Hodson, Curator of Collections at the Hastings Museum, will be the featured guest speaker. Her presentation will focus on the museum’s artifact collection, how it got started, if they are still accepting donations and other items of interest. Come and enjoy hearing about the collections and displays of Pawnee and other Nebraska artifacts at the Hastings Museum.

The Nebraska Archaeological Society endeavors to develop and maintain a better understanding among students and collectors of archaeological material, and professional archaeologists, as well as museums and institutions of learning.
