Nebraska Book Award winners will speak at the Celebration of Nebraska Books, 3:30-6:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Nebraska State Historical Society’s Museum of Nebraska History, 15th and P streets in downtown Lincoln.

Free and open to the public, the event will highlight the 2012 One Book One Nebraska, honor this year’s Jane Geske Award winner and announce the 2013 selection for One Book One Nebraska.

The Nebraska Book Awards honor books with Nebraska connections that were published in 2011. The following winners or their representatives are expected to attend. Some will read from their work: Twyla Hansen, poetry award winner with Linda Hasselstrom for Dirt Songs: A Plains Ducet; Sandra Mathews, anthology honor book award winner with Renee Laegreid for Women on the North American Plains; Richard Schilling, Nebraska as Place non-fiction award winner for Portraits of the Prairie: The Landscape that Inspired Willa Cather; Brent Spencer, biography award winner for Rattlesnake Daddy: A Son’s Search for His Father; Nebraska State Historical Society, design award winner for First Telegraph Line Across the Continent: Charles Brown’s 1861 Diary.

At 5:30 p.m., the 2013 One Book One Nebraska selection will be announced.
