The Russ’s Market
store located at East Park Plaza at 66th & O Streets will nearly double in size over the next year. B&R Stores, parent company of Russ’s Market, has reached an agreement to take over the space directly north of the current store, which previously housed a CVS Pharmacy. Construction will begin this spring and interior renovations to the building are expected to be completed in January 2016. The project will enlarge the store from 25,500 sq. ft. to more than 46,000 sq. ft.
The newly renovated store will include a drive-thru pharmacy, separate entrance for an expanded spirits department and cafe with indoor seating. Additional space will allow for a larger selection of grocery items, particularly fresh foods. A new facade will create a center entrance for the store. Fuel pumps will be added near O Street but may not be completed as quickly as the main Russ’s Market store. Renovation plans call for use of energy-efficient lighting and fixtures. The store will remain open during construction.
