By 2050, the number of individuals using paid long-term care services in any setting will likely double from 13 million in 2000 to 27 million, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Labor.
Many people are turning to home care, which is a cost effective way to receive health care assistance while remaining independent in the comfort of their own home. Caring for People Services, which provides in-home, non-medical services for people of all ages, is meeting this growing need with a new franchise in Lincoln.
Colby Honke heads the Lincoln location. Companionship, light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal and respite care, shopping and errands and transportation are among Caring for People Services offerings.
John and Virginia Walker started Caring for People Services in 2005 after their son, Thomas Layton, lost his battle with cancer at the age of 26.
