Nebraska Community Blood Bank to Offer Free Stop the Bleed Training in Lincoln

The Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB) (NCBB.org/Bleed) is proud to offer free Stop the Bleed training to the public in partnership with Bryan Trauma Center. Trainings are held monthly at NCBB’s donor center at 100 N. 84th St. in Lincoln. One in seven people entering a hospital need a blood transfusion, and donors with NCBB supply nearly all of the blood used by Nebraska hospital patients, but the need for blood can occur anywhere, not just where medical care is immediately available.

If you can recognize when someone is experiencing life-threatening bleeding and effectively help them, a few moments and a few simple actions can mean the difference between life and death. This is why the U.S. Department of Homeland Security developed the Stop the Bleed program. Stop the Bleed training empowers you to act quickly in emergency situations and take vital initial steps to stop uncontrolled bleeding. Stop the Bleed techniques can save and sustain someone’s life before medical help arrives, and almost anyone can learn to Stop the Bleed.
