Premier Psych has built a state of the art facility to bring state of the art services such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation(TMS) therapy, pharmacogenetic testing, clinical research, telepsych, collaboration with an on-site pharmacy (Genoa), and future advancements to Lincoln and an ever-widening service area.
TMS is a non-medication, non-invasive treatment of resistant depression that was approved by the FDA in 2008. To date the clinic has provided over 2,098 TMS therapy sessions to patients from throughout Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas since first offering the treatment in April 2011. “We’ve seen a remarkable improvement in the quality of life in many patients,” Dr. Duffy said. “Close to 80% of the 84 patients treated have had a significant improvement in mood, energy, and motivation.” This past year Premier Psych TMS was one of the top 3 providers of TMS in the nation.
In addition to TMS, Premier Psych offers a revolutionary lab test based on pharmacogenetics, the study of the genetic factors that influence an individual’s response to various medications. “Testing a person’s DNA can provide important insights which can guide the provider in selecting the most effective medications with the lowest probability of adverse side effects” said Dr. Duffy.
