Students in Southeast Community College’s Physical Therapist Assistant program donated $375 to help a pediatric patient pay for an AmTryke® through AMBUCS™, Inc., a non-profit service organization dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities.

Members of the PTA class that graduated in March donated the money to Zachary, who received therapy at Wholistic Therapy Services in Doniphan. Zachary was a pediatric patient the class observed during the PTA curriculum. Wholistic Therapy Services is a clinical site for SCC’s program and representatives often come to Lincoln as guest speakers.
The money went to AMBUCS™’ Every Kid Needs a Bike campaign. The money was the final contribution that allowed the bike to be purchased.

SCC’s Student PTA Association is organized to provide opportunities for the enhancement of academic, social, professional, and recreational aspects of student life and future physical therapist assistants. Their activities include fundraising, service/philanthropic and advocacy for the physical therapy profession.
