Local manufacturer Milestone Local Surfaces is set to host its first Open House on Friday, October 7th. This open house is a unique opportunity to see the process behind the manufacture of recycled glass countertops made right here in Lincoln.
Co-founders Jen Carlson and Josh Shear are also founders of Straw Sticks & Bricks, a Lincoln-based business that has carried green building materials since 2001.
Milestone’s facility, at 245 N 3rd Street in Lincoln, will feature examples of their countertop surfaces, as well as information on their method of sorting and processing glass as well as casting and polishing slabs. The open house will be geared towards Architects and Design professionals from 4-6pm, and will be open to the public from 6-8pm.
