American Cancer Society to Hold Recruitment Event for New Team Leaders
The American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) is hosting a recruitment celebration to invite community members to join their mission of ending breast cancer by becoming a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Team Leader. The event will be held on August 22 at Cornhusker Bank from 5:30 to 7 p.m. A Team Leader recruits family, friends, and others to join their team. Then, they set fundraising goals, organize fundraising activities, and lead their team through a fun walk day.
More awareness and money raised allows the American Cancer Society to educate the public about reducing cancer risk and detecting it early, fund more groundbreaking research, and deliver more crucial services that patients and caregivers rely on every day. The American Cancer Society uses raised funds nationwide to invest in 160 research grants related to breast cancer, provide nearly 48,000 rides to treatment, provide over 477,000 free nights of lodging, and much more.
Will you help the American Cancer Society to lead the fight this year by committing to being a Team Leader? Reserving your spot is required, and you can do so by emailing Christine Bleich at christine.bleich@cancer.org. Visit makingstrideswalk.org/LincolnNE or call (402) 260-3287 for more information.
