Bright Lights to Host Summer Camps Covering a Variety of Themes and Interests

Bright Lights summer camp registration is now open on the Bright Lights website (brightlights.org), and half and full day camp schedules are available to view online for ages ranging from post-kindergarten through eighth grade. Camp themes range from time travel with characters from The Magic Treehouse to French cooking and culture to chess playing to skateboarding or even surviving a zombie apocalypse. Bright Lights’ camps are an ideal way for elementary and middle school students to maximize the fun of summer vacation while secretly allowing parents to know their children are avoiding learning loss. The program weeks are as follows: June 1–5, June 8–12, June 15–19, June 22–26, and July 6–10.

Need-based scholarships will also be available this summer and can be applied for during the registration process. Additional information about the scholarship program can be found at brightlights.org/programs/resources/scholarships.html.

In addition, Bright Lights is now accepting applications for camp assistants. These volunteer positions are available to high school students, college students, and adults. Assistants will provide support to teachers in each of Bright Lights’ 100+ camps, enriching the experience for campers.

Bright Lights is a nonprofit that takes learning beyond the classroom by providing youth with unique hands-on learning opportunities since 1987. For more information about the camp or becoming a camp assistant, go online to brightlights.org or call (402) 420-1115.
