Capital Humane Society is pleased to announce they held a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce on February 29th to celebrate the ground breaking of their new adoption center located on the southeast corner of 70th and Highway 2.

The new center, which will be called The Pieloch Pet Adoption Center operated by Capital Humane Society, was named for major donor Mark Pieloch, president of Pharma Chemie.  The architect for the project is Bahr Vermeer Haecker and the contractor is Hampton Enterprises.

Founded in 1902, Capital Humane Society receives stray and unwanted animals primarily from Lincoln and Lancaster County.  Programs include adoptions, lost and found, education, foster homes and volunteers.
