Catholic Social Services Vehicle Donation Program Provides Hope

For many served by Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska (www.cssisus.org/donate), having reliable transportation isn’t just a convenience, it’s a necessity. Often, clients of Catholic Social Services have trouble keeping jobs due to lack of reliable transportation. At Catholic Social Services, they try to alleviate this stress by helping with car repairs. They have a fund to help with these expenses. They also have the St. Christopher Vehicle Donation Program where they take donated vehicles and give them to people who do not have any transportation. Last year, Catholic Social Services was able to give 31 vehicles statewide to individuals who had no transportation. Some donated cars which may not be safe to drive are sold for parts to get funds to help the poor as well. All donated vehicles (drivable or non-drivable) to Catholic Social Services end up helping those in need.

“My children and I appreciate Catholic Social Services for giving us a car when we didn’t have a ride to store, school, and to work. May God bless Catholic Social Services!”- Vehicle Donation Program recipient
