CBMC’s 18th Annual Golf Classic Focuses on Fellowship, Connections, Impact

CBMC Lincoln (Lincoln.cbmc.com) hosted the 18th Annual Golf Classic and luncheon on July 9 at Wilderness Ridge. Over 90 golfers and an additional 65 individuals attended the luncheon.

The speaker was Roy Helu, Jr., former Husker and NFL running back. Roy shared how his journey of a life focused on himself and gaining success and fame left him in deep depression during his first year at UNL. Despite great success on the field, off the field his life spiraled downward. The trajectory of Roy’s life changed dramatically when he sought help from the team chaplain and became a Christian.

Wilderness Ridge provided a great venue for the luncheon and a fun afternoon of golf, along with some great fellowship, team awards, raffle prizes, and a silent auction. CBMC is deeply grateful for the 100+ businesses and individuals who sponsored and donated, along with the many volunteers who make the annual event possible. A video of the talk by Roy Helu, Jr. and event highlights can be found at Lincoln.cbmc.com.
