The Center for People in Need recently hosted its annual Toyland for Kids event in December, and would like to thank all of the donors and volunteers for their support again this year! Each year Toyland for Kids distributes age-appropriate holiday gifts to low-income children ages 18 and under. Parents are invited to “shop” in the warehouse to pick out gifts that their children would like. In 2013, the Center for People in Need supplied toys to over 8,600 children and the number was greater in 2014.
Between distributions for food and household goods, job training programs, classes for recent immigrants, and health and general assistance outreach services, the Center for People in Need provides a wide range of needed services that help Lancaster County’s low-income population achieve self-sufficiency. The Center has several annual programs that help to meet this goal, including Truckloads of Help, the Neighborhood F.O.O.D. Program and Toyland for Kids.
