In early January, seven Lincoln-based non-profit organizations received unrestricted grants from the Delta Air Lines Foundation in Atlanta, Georgia. These gifts were part of a Foundation plan to partner with non-profit organizations in communities served by Delta.
As part of this partnership plan the Delta Air Lines Foundation selected Nebraska as one of its focus states and awarded $50,000 in grants to non-profits in both Lincoln and Omaha. In Lincoln, cash grants were provided to the Lincoln Community Foundation, Junior Achievement of Lincoln, Food Bank of Lincoln, Lincoln YMCA, United Way of Lincoln/Lancaster County, Nebraska Children and Families Foundation and the Cornhusker Chapter of American Red Cross.
The Delta Air Lines Foundation was formed in 1968 to enhance Delta’s charitable giving in the key areas of health and wellness, arts and culture, education, the environment and diversity.
The Lincoln non-profit community has a long history of partnership with local, regional and national-based companies who have a presence in our area and the recent gifts from the Delta Air Lines Foundation will provide funding to advance the mission of the grateful recipients.
