Friendship Home is pleased to announce Verizon Wireless is holding a golf tournament to benefit Friendship Home on July 29th.  This four-person scramble will start at 2 pm with a shotgun start at HiMark Golf Course.  Cost is $220 for a team of four and excellent silent auction and raffle items will be offered.

Since 2007, Verizon employees have donated over $1 million in supplies to nonprofit organizations  supporting domestic violence survivors. Locally, Lincoln Verizon employees participate in a toiletry shower in the spring, a school supply drive in the fall, and a book drive in the winter to benefit Friendship Home.

Formed in 1978, Friendship Home is Lincoln’s specialized emergency and transitional shelter program for battered women and their children. For women in the community who are exploring the possibility of leaving violent homes, and for those who have left and are now homeless, Friendship Home offers a comprehensive array of services designed to address both domestic violence and homelessness. This comprehensive approach makes Friendship Home unique in Lincoln.
