Friendship Home Calls for Volunteer Support

The Friendship Home (friendshiphome.org) relies on volunteers to stay afloat, and they would like to encourage anyone who is interested in volunteering to reach out. They strive to have each volunteer in a position that showcases their individual talents and strengths.

Open volunteer positions include:

  • Match Volunteer: work one-on-one with a child currently staying at the Friendship Home once a week for an hour. Having positive adult role models in their lives has proved extremely beneficial for the children Friendship Home serves.
  • Children’s Advocate Volunteer: needed Monday and Wednesday evenings and/or Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Work alongside children’s advocates to provide nurturing childcare while the parent is receiving the direct support they need.
  • Donation of frozen meals: feed a family staying in the Friendship Home.
  • Stuff the Bus: date to be determined. Volunteer opportunity for individuals, families, and companies to provide essential everyday items.

The Friendship Home exists to support, shelter, and advocate for victims of domestic violence and their children. They provide crisis intervention services, case management, and emotional support to victims. All volunteers must be 18 or older, and those interested should contact Rainey at (402) 437-9367 / raineyk@friendshiphome.org.
