Friendship Home Gets Community Support for Domestic Violence Victims over Holidays

Friendship Home (friendshiphome.org) received an outpouring of support from the Lincoln community to sponsor families being sheltered during the holiday season. Beginning in November, community organizations teamed up to provide 29 families at Friendship Home with meals for Thanksgiving, including turkey, stuffing, yams, and cranberry sauce. Donations for the meals were provided by Olsson, Lazlo’s Advance Chiropractic Solutions, Community of Christ Church, the Clark Enersen Partners, and several individual community members.

In December, Friendship Home hosted its annual Sponsored Families Holiday Gift Drive, to which 75 organizations, businesses, and community members donated holiday gifts for all 115 individuals served in the shelter. Victims of domestic violence shed many happy tears when they received the gifts.
