Friendship Home Hosts 22nd Annual Stuff the Bus to Support Victims of Domestic Violence

Friendship Home (www.friendshiphome.org), StarTran, and Alpha Media are excited to partner for the 22nd Annual Stuff the Bus, a two-week event, running April 5-18. For the safety of the community volunteers, supporters, and Friendship Home staff, this year’s event will be a virtual experience, and Friendship Home invites you to help raise $50,000 for highly needed items for the women and children in shelter. Donations from Stuff the Bus will allow families served at Friendship Home to receive the everyday essential items they need while rebuilding their lives—free from domestic violence. Since many of these families enter through Friendship Home’s shelter doors with no more than the clothes on their backs, Stuff the Bus is critical to support their needs as they begin this journey.

Many of us take the comfort and safety of home for granted in this time of social distancing, but for some, home is the most dangerous place on Earth. Domestic violence definitely didn’t stop for COVID-19 and, in fact, oftentimes escalates due to additional stressors. With this in mind, Friendship Home provides crisis services, emergency shelter, and transitional housing to victims of domestic violence and their children. For more information regarding Stuff the Bus visit, www.friendshiphome.org or contact Dani Bryant at danib@friendshiphome.org.
