Friendship Home: Safe Quarters Volunteers Needed

SAFE QUARTERS SAVE LIVES. On Sunday, October 8th, over a thousand Friendship Home (friendshiphome.org) volunteers will walk the city collecting financial contributions from every Lincoln household for the 15th year of Safe Quarters. Safe Quarters is Friendship Home’s largest fundraiser, raising over $100,000 in one day for victims of domestic violence.

Friendship Home is looking for teams of volunteers to go door-to-door in Lincoln neighborhoods on October 8th. A team generally consists of 12-15 members and all ages are encouraged to participate. Volunteers will receive t-shirts and collection buckets for the drive. Register your Safe Quarters team at friendshiphome.org.

In order to meet the needs of the 1,600 victims Friendship Home will serve this year, the help of the whole community is needed. Funds collected provide a safe, confidential home, crisis services and ongoing support for families who are rebuilding their lives because of domestic violence. Please sign up a volunteer team today and/or donate when a Safe Quarters volunteer comes to your door on October 8th. Your participation will help end violence in the lives of victims in our community.
