In celebration of its 5th anniversary, Ignite Lincoln
will be awarding $5,000 to a nonprofit organization that ignites passion in the Lincoln community. Qualified nonprofits submitted their nomination in June, and the five finalists will be selected by the Ignite Lincoln Nonprofit Committee based on entry creativity and the degree to which they exemplify igniting passion in Lincoln. Finalists will be announced over the space of five days, beginning July 8th. Speaker applications for the event will be accepted until July 19th, and will be announced on July 26th.
Ignite Lincoln 2013 will be held on August 29th at the Rococo Theater in Lincoln, Nebraska. Tickets are available online for $10. Event attendees will be given a special code to vote via text message in real time for their favorite nonprofit. The nonprofit with the most votes will be awarded a check for $5,000 at the end of the evening. All event costs are covered by sponsors so that 100% of ticket proceeds go directly to the winning nonprofit organization. Ignite Lincoln is a nonprofit organization that provides a platform for Lincolnites to share an idea, in five minutes and 20 slides, that will spark imagination, inspire, educate and build a better community.
