Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska Board Member Lyndee Black recently selected Fresh Start to receive a $1,000 gift in her name as part of the company’s Board Directed Contributions Program.
Fresh Start is a transitional shelter that empowers homeless women to change their lives by recognizing and utilizing their strengths to overcome barriers to self-sufficiency. The shelter provides food, safe housing, case management, and supportive services. Fresh Start recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, having served nearly 1,200 women since its doors opened.
