In April, the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and the Lincoln Children’s Museum hosted an event where DLR Group and 3,175 fans and volunteers built the largest and tallest structure made of Lincoln Logs, requiring 5 hours and 57 minutes to construct. All Lincoln Logs were contributed by community members, or could be purchased at Union Bank & Trust locations with the proceeds donated directly to Lincoln/Lancaster Habitat for Humanity. The structure that was built contained 10,036 Lincoln Logs when finished and broke both the record for the most Lincoln Logs used and the tallest structure built with Lincoln Logs, standing 3.77 meters (12 feet 4 inches) high. The Guinness World Record breaking Lincoln Logs structure was chosen as one of the top five best and most unique records broken in the world for the week of June 14th, as featured on their website at www.guinnessworldrecords.com.
The Lincoln Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the local businesses and organizations that contributed to this event, including Union Bank & Trust, Realtors Association of Lincoln, Lincoln Community Foundation, Lincoln Children’s Museum, HobbyTown USA, DLR Group, Greenleaf Properties, Bison, Sam’s Club, FOTObrations, Uprise Design, Archrival, and Sam and Louie’s.
