The Lincoln Police Department honored all of the Internal Resource Officers who have served LPD for the past 30 years at the LPD Academy Graduation on December 17, 2014. The Internal Resource Officer program officially began on April 1, 1984. Since that time, over 60 LPD Officers/Civilian Employees have served in the role of IRO. These dedicated employees who coordinate the program with Continuum EAP are focused on assisting LPD employees and their families in achieving and maintaining good emotional and psychological health and resiliency. IRO’s encourage and facilitate referrals to EAP, support employees who are facing difficult personal or family changes and co-facilitate with Continuum EAP the Critical Incident Stress Management program. The success of this model program is a testimony to the hard work and dedication of all of these Internal Resource Officers and the support they receive from City of Lincoln Human Resources and LPD Administration. Congratulations on a very successful 30 years!
