LOC Ortho Open Raises Money for Friendship Home for 12th Year

On June 1, patients and friends of the Lincoln Orthopedic Center (LOC) were treated to 18 holes of golf and a dinner reception at Wilderness Ridge. The annual event celebrates the return to activity for LOC patients who had total joint surgery in 2017 while simultaneously raising funds for Friendship Home (www.friendshiphome.org). More than $13,000 was raised through generous Lincoln Orthopedic Center sponsors, a silent auction and freewill donations. Earlier this year the physicians at LOC personally donated $10,000 in memory of their colleague and friend, Dr. Dennis Bozarth.

Friendship Home, Lincoln’s confidential domestic violence shelter, offers emergency and transitional shelter, as well as safety planning, support groups and mental health counseling. Fundraising efforts like this one help Friendship Home maintain the quality of services to victims of domestic violence and their children 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Many thanks to golfers, sponsors and LOC staff and volunteers whose participation and generosity helped make this year’s Ortho Open a continued success.
