Gary Dominguez of Home Real Estate in Lincoln has donated the equivalent of his 2012 production award to the Steve King Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit, tax deductible charitable organization established for the purpose of helping the dirt track racing community. The foundation was established after the death of Steve King, a sprint car driver from Jetmore, Kansas. Steve died from a brain injury sustained during an accident between turns three and four during Wednesday night race qualifying for the 2006 Knoxville (IA) Nationals. The foundation has helped many of the Lincoln and surrounding area racing families that have suffered hardships. Dominguez’s roots in racing go back to 1968 when he attended his first race at age 11. He is currently the owner/driver of the Official Pace Car at Eagle Raceway, located twelve miles east of Lincoln on Highway 34.
