LUX Center for the Arts presented “Men’s Night at the LUX” on December 12. This event invited men to a one-night-only holiday shopping event with the opportunity to purchase gifts for the ladies in their lives. To help them find the perfect gifts, ladies were encouraged to stop by and fill out a “Wish List” card, so during the event the LUX staff and volunteers could direct the men to exactly what their ladies had picked out. Many of the gifts purchased included hand-made jewelry, scarves, purses, paintings, pottery and more. Drinks and snacks were also provided.
LUX Center for the Arts is free and open to the public. Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (first Friday of each month until 8 p.m.). Free parking is available on the west side of the building located in historic University Place at 2601 N. 48th Street. The Nebraska Arts Council, a state agency, has supported the programs of LUX Center for the Arts through its matching grants program funded by the Nebraska Legislature, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.
