Midwest Holding, Inc. Organizes Supply Drive Benefitting Community Action Programs

Throughout late May and early June, Midwest Holding, Inc. donated over 4,000 items to benefit participants of Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties (www.communityactionatwork.org)’ programs.

Each week of the Midwest Holding, Inc. donation drive, departments split into teams and competed against one another to see who could supply the greatest number of items to benefit a particular Community Action program. Items donated throughout the three-week drive included personal care supplies; basic home furnishings like lamps, dishes, and utensils; early childhood education supplies; and more.

Items donated by Midwest Holding, Inc. will be distributed to families participating in many of Community Action’s programs, including its early childhood education and homelessness prevention programs. Many items will be made available through Community Action’s store. At the Community Action Store, participants can obtain basic needs items in exchange for points earned through achievement of self-sufficiency goals.

“We were thrilled to partner with Community Action and give back in this way,” said Midwest Holding employee Kelly Crawford, who helped organize the supply drive. “This supply drive began with a goal to address high-priority needs in our community, and we’re proud to have achieved that.”

Every year, Community Action serves over 17,000 individuals in Lancaster and Saunders Counties. To learn more about Community Action, or to volunteer or give, visit www.communityactionatwork.org.
