As a part of Husker Nation, the Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB) is encouraging blood donors to show their Husker pride and “give Big Red” by donating blood this fall.
Beginning September 1 through October 31, register to donate at any NCBB fixed site and get geared up for game day with the chance to win some great Husker-themed prizes. Prizes include: the book “Game Day Memories” by local writer, Mary Jane Nielsen, Husker gear including this year’s NCBB Bleed Husker nation t-shirt, tickets to Husker volleyball, football and basketball games, plus much more! To be included in the drawing, participants must fill out a special entry form when they register to donate. Daily drawings will take place for books by Nielsen, while weekly drawings will take place for other Husker items.
A Lincoln author, Nielsen’s books reminisce about life in Lincoln and the experiences of Husker game days. Full of photographs and interesting stories, Game Day Memories is a must-read for those who love the Huskers and the history surrounding them.
