Nebraska Area Hospitals to Participate in American Heart Association’s Little Hats, Big Hearts™ Project

This February for American Heart Month, the American Heart Association (www.heart.org/HEARTORG/)  is partnering with 25 hospitals across Nebraska, and one in Council Bluffs, IA, to distribute handmade knitted or crocheted red hats to newborn babies as a part of the Little Hats, Big Hearts™ project. The project aims to raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases, the No. 1 killer in the United States, and congenital heart defects, the most common type of birth defect in the country, occurring in one in 100 births.
