Registration Now Open for SCIP’s Annual Fundraiser, “Hop, SCIP, Jump & RUN”

Registration is now open for School Community Intervention & Prevention’s (SCIP; scipnebraska.com) annual fundraiser, “Hop, SCIP, Jump & RUN,” brought to you by Family Health & Wellness Center, PC. Due to health and safety concerns posed by COVID-19, the date of this event will be re-evaluated in mid-April. The event, set to take place at Antelope Park, will feature music, food, and a one-mile Fun Run which is open to both children and adults. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers. Before and after the run, attendees will have the opportunity to visit booths sponsored by local nonprofits offering a variety of activities, resources, or treats. After visiting a pre-determined number of booths, attendees will be eligible for prize drawings. Prizes range from gift cards to local businesses to free admission passes to the Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum. Julie’s Hot Dogs will also be on-site.

The one-mile Fun Run is $15 per person. Registrations purchased by May 14 include an event t-shirt. Children under the age of nine must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets for the event can be purchased through the SCIP website at scipnebraska.com. Online registration closes on May 28 at 3 p.m. Those wanting to attend but not participate in the Fun Run will be admitted for free.

SCIP works with schools throughout Nebraska by providing tools and resources to address behavioral and emotional health issues that impact children, adolescents, and their families.  Annual trainings and community forums are offered on a variety of behavioral and emotional health topics like bullying, current drug trends, anxiety, depression, self-harm, dating violence, and suicide prevention. SCIP’s mission is to provide an effective prevention and early intervention process for youth with behavioral health concerns so they may achieve healthy, productive lives. Money raised at this event will help SCIP provide needed resources to schools and families throughout the state of Nebraska.
