United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County is pleased to announce that it has officially reached the 2011 campaign goal of $6,165,000.  This is the first time the organization has raised over $6 million dollars for the community.

Jim Cada, 2011 campaign chair stated, “I am thrilled to announce that United Way has reached its fundraising goal of $6,165,000.  We had an exceptional team of individuals that made this happen – from the campaign cabinet to staff, board members, volunteers and donors.  This is a great win for everyone – especially the agencies and the people they serve.”

Despite the campaign’s success, the need for services (programs) provided by agencies funded by United Way is great.  In 2011, an additional $1.5 in funding was requested for the 2010-2012 funding cycle but was not able to be met.

United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County is working to advance the common good by focusing on two impact areas:  1) Investing in Lincoln’s Future:  Our Children, and 2) Assisting those in crisis toward stability and independence.  Our goal is to create long-lasting and measurable changes that improve the quality of life for struggling individuals, families and children.
