The YouthInspire Board of Directors would like to thank Lincoln’s families for their generosity in donating to the First Annual Winter Clothing Drive.
YouthInspire identified winter clothing as the priority of their philanthropic activities during 2012-2013—particularly after learning how quickly the Lincoln Public Schools winter clothing distribution ran out of coats and warm clothes (in about an hour). They decided to reach out to their peers to get additional donations to support Lincoln’s youth.
YouthInspire partnered with the Lincoln Public Schools high schools—they hosted collection bins and advertised the clothing drive to parents. YouthInspire is very grateful to the LPS high school principals and Student Councils for their help with this project.
The Winter Clothing Drive was extremely successful, collecting hundreds of coats, scarves, mittens, hats and boots from families throughout Lincoln! These items were donated to the People’s City Mission and Cedars and will help to support families and children in need this winter.
